On this site, I’ll be sharing my own personal in-depth Shakeology review for 2012. Shakeology was a big part of me losing my stubborn lower belly fat that I’d been trying to get rid of for years.
After college, I packed on lots of ugly stomach fat, thanks to long work weeks, a poor diet and a bunch of other excuses. Eventually, I said enough was enough, and started using Shakeology, along with a healthy diet plan and regular exercise. I dropped nearly twenty pounds total! Here is a pic I took recently:

Being a Beachbody coach, I get a lot of questions about Shakeology.
It seems like nearly everyone has heard the hype about the product, seen the advertisements, or perhaps have even read the article in Oprah’s magazine about it.
So, people hear the buzz about the product and the questions start to pour in. My intent is to use this site as a forum to answer those questions and give an honest Shakeology Review.
When you are through reading here I want you to have enough information to make an educated decision in purchasing Shakeology.
Is Shakeology Worth the Money?
At first glance, the price of Shakeology is a little overwhelming. If you are used to the average cost of a meal replacement or protein shake then the price seems a little steep.
If you were searching for something along the lines of “shakeology review negative,” this is the one knock I’d give this product. It’s a little on the pricey side…
… BUT…
When you are considering the cost, though, it is important to remember that this is a “meal replacement” supplement. That means it will replace one or two of your meals a day.
How much do you spend on lunch a day? I bet it’s more than $4 and it is nowhere near as healthy as Shakeology.
Shakeology costs around $4 a serving. That’s less than a Starbucks coffee drink.
Ingredient Quality
There is certainly not a shortage to the selection of meal replacement shakes on the market today. The quality of these other MRS products is often less than desirable. They are filled with preservatives, sugar, low quality ingredients and artificial fillers.
It’s clear that the other products out there are not exactly “healthy” replacements.
When considering the quality of the ingredients, Shakeology is light years ahead of the competition. It performs two main tasks.
It gently removed toxins from the body while also aiding in the absorption of nutrients into the blood stream. It is the only MRS out there that contains so many of what the health industry calls “superfoods”.
Beachbody specifically formulated Shakeology with over 70 all natural ingredients and free of fillers. Then they selected only the purest forms of each ingredient by going straight to the source for their suppliers.
They only use whole food sources and never artificial sweeteners or preservatives.
Protein Content
Shakeology contains 15 grams of whey protein isolate which is an easily absorbable source of high-quality protein. Protein is ideal for building and maintaining lean muscle mass.
It also helps in reducing hunger junk food cravings while keeping your blood sugar steady.
There are many prebiotics which are natural components of certain plants that support the good bacteria in your digestive system.
They will also help with the absorption of essential minerals such as calcium. Digestive enzymes like the ones found in papayas help your body break down food into smaller components.
Shakeology’s fruit and vegetable sources have been chosen because of their high concentration of healthy natural substances.
They are high in antioxidant properties. Scientists have recently discovered they help get rid of molecules known as free radicals, which damage cells and are a key component of the aging process.
It’s no secret that most of us don’t get anywhere near enough vitamins and minerals in our diets. The quality of our food sources has sadly declined and there are very few that contain natural healthy ingredients.
Shakeolgy contains 23 vitamins and minerals. It can be used to completely fulfill all of your daily requirements of these essential building blocks. I used it in lieu of a multi-vitamin in my diet.
Taste
Of the two flavors offered I like the chocolate one the best. The Greenberry flavor of Shakeology was good as well, however, I think the Chocolate flavor is much more versatile when it comes to recipes.

I can honestly say that chocolate flavored Shakeology actually tastes amazing. I followed a couple of the recipes that are recommended by Beachbody and they made it a complete meal.
There is a recipe book that comes with your shipment of the product.
My personal favorite was the Carl Daikeler Special. It has a banana, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter, and soy milk in it. It seriously tastes just like a peanut butter cup. That just happens to be my favorite candy ever!
My Conclusion
In my honest Shakeology Review I have considered both the pros and the cons of the product. In my opinion the pros definitely outweigh the cons.
Shakeology is an extremely valuable product that contains over 70 of the healthiest ingredients known. Beachbody made sure that the ingredients were derived from the purest forms and from natural whole food sources.
Also, it comes with a 30 day, bottom of the bag, money back guarantee. You can use the entire product and if you don’t like it or it doesn’t perform to your expectations then return it.
In my opinion that is an amazing incentive offered by Beachbody.
